Kate and I have been friends since we were three years old. She lived at the top of the street perpendicular to mine. We lost touch for a few years after college as she roamed around the world, and reconnected during the MySpace days. She had been living in Nicaragua, Spain, Alaska, Colorado, and Hawaii. She currently lives in Oregon, but leads surf trips to Costa Rica, Baja, and elsewhere. Suffice it to say, this woman knows eco-travel and adventure travel. She’s recently launched Surf Mermaid Travel and specializes in surf quests, but also will book cruises and normie trips too!
